Over EUR 1.213 bn drawn through T bill issue

The Ministry of Finance on Wednesday drew more than EUR 1.213 bn through an issue of discount T bills, which was put up for bidding through the agency of the National Bank of Romania, which was three times as much as it had planned.
The certificates will be mature in one year and the average level of efficiency for the issue is 4.90 percent. The average weighted level of the discount rate was 4.67 percent and the average weighted level of the discount price for the bid is 95.279 percent.
The total value of the issue was EUR 400 mn and the total demand by the 12 banks taking part in the bidding was RON 1.369 bn. Bids to buy T bills were submitted by 12 primary dealers: Alpha Bank Romania, the Romanian Development Bank-Groupe Societe Generale, the Carpatica Commercial Bank, the Romanian Commercial Bank, the Transilvania Bank, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, Raiffeisen Bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
