Analysts: Inflation grew to 7.5% in July

The annual inflation rate grew to 7.5% in July, according to an opinion poll made by members of the Association of Financial-Banking Analysts in Romania (AAFBR).
Analysts' estimates about annual inflation varied between 7% and 8.3%.The annual inflation rate was in July 2.9% according to AAFBR opinion poll (estimates being between 2.4%-3.6%) while the annual inflation rate was 7.5% (estimates vary between 7% and 8.3%).
For the end of 2010 the estimates of AAFBR members who answered the poll place the annual inflation rate at 8.1%(estimates vary between 7% and 8.5%). The 8.1% estimate represents the opinion of 25% of respondents.AAFBR is a professional association set up in 2008 which gathers over 50 analysts from the banking sector, pension funds, investment administration companies, insurance companies and from the stock market.
The first official data about the impact of VAT increase by 5% to 24% on the evolution of prices in July will be published on Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute. Economists say monthly inflation could be up to 3% but they expect price increases in the following months.
