Ploiesti-Vest belt road to complete in Nov 2011

Minister Berceanu inaugurated the road rail overpass at Brazi, (northwest of Bucharest), on Monday, the rehabilitation works costing 10.28 million lei (2.39 million euros).

Immediately after the weight tests, the bridge in the Brazi plant area was opened to the traffic.

'The pavement is fully rehabilitated, now, but the five overpasses still need repairing because they were built in the 60ies, and the works are due to start in March, and we expect them to cost 2.7 million euros,' Transport Minister added.

It was on Nov 20, 2007 that the order for starting works was issued, the project being expected to cost 27.9 million euros

The repair and the enlargement works at the 12.85 km long Ploiesti West ring road, required five high passages to be doubled, and eight crossroads to be fixed.
