Romania and Spain will sign a strategic partnership. Zapatero to come to Bucharest

The Spanish premier Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will come to Bucharest, on which occasion there will be signed a strategic partnership between Romania and Spain according to MFA.
Teodor Baconschi,the minister of Foreign Affairs paid an official visit to Spain, had a working reunion with the Spanish minister of foreign affairs Miguel Angel Moratinos, where they discussed the perspectives of bilateral relations and cooperation on an European level.
MFA says that during the discussions with his Spanish counterpart, the minister Baconschi showed the importance of strengthening excellent relations at political level in a strategic partnership, to support the development of joint projects at the level of public administration, business environment and civil society. The Spanish part received with openness the proposal of the Romanian part, showing the possibility of signing the political declaration regarding the strategic partnership on the occasion of the visit paid by the Spanish premier Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
« We have a factual strategic partnership to be politically sealed when premier Zapatero comes to Bucharest and signs this document. Strategic partnerships stimulate mutual investments and human relations. This strategic partnership will show a new historic stage in the relations between the two countries' Baconschi said. The two foreign affairs ministers signed a agreement regarding the operation of cultural institutes in the two countries, document which allows the consolidation of the presence of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Spain and of the Cervantes Institute in Romania, respectively.
