Peles Assembly to be on UNESCO World Heritage List, together with tree German royal castles

Romania's Minister of Culture and National Heritage Hunor Kelemen has been paying an official visit to Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg German states, on Oct 21 and 22, when, together with the Bavarian officials, it has been decided on the initiation of common listing the Peles Assembly, including Peles and Pelisor castles - in Prahova County - southern Romania, and three royal castles, namely Herrenchiemsee, Linderhof and Neuschwanstein of southern Germany, as the UNESCO World Heritage Monuments.
According to a release the Romanian Culture Ministry sent to Agerpres, it will be the experts to continue the talks on the joint listing, during the period ahead.
Minister Kelemen and Bavaria's State Minister for Science, Research and Art Wolfgang Heubisch had a working meeting, on Thursday Oct 21. During the meeting it was agreed on the intensification of the cooperation among the central institutions, as well as the endorsement of the direct contacts between the Romanian and the Bavarian artists and creators.
In sideline of the visit, Romania's Culture Minister also held talks with the general manager of the Bavarian Office for Heritage Protection Egon Johannes Greipl. The two parties had a fruitful information exchange about the legal framework and the tangible manners of protecting Romania and Bavaria's patrimony.
During the talks, it was also shared the idea of setting up a cooperation mechanism, whereby the Romanian side should benefit from Bavaria's experience in the field of the heritage protection, the above-mentioned source said. According to Agerpres, the Culture and National Heritage Ministry (MCPN) delegation, also encompassing the head of the MCPN Patrimony Directorate Mircea Anghelescu, the Ministerial Cabinet's director Balint Porcsalmi and Minister's personal advisor Csilla Hegedus, visited Stuttgart and Ulm, on Friday.
