HP launches first European Brand Store in Romania

Hewlett Packard (HP) IT manufacturer and its retail partner Altex opened their first high-end store in Europe, in Romania, on Nov 5, informs the HP release sent to Agerpres.

The HP Brand Store is located in Plaza Romania, in Bucharest, and Altex Romania, the former's direct retail partner, will be its operator and it will present the whole HP products range, including new, both consumer and business products, not on sale in Romania, so far.

'HP plans to offer its clients a non-conformist space, different from what they have seen on the IT market, so far, and where they can meet the newest technologies. The store will be a surprise for the buyers through the transposition of the brand's personality, the complex portfolio, the innovative design, the accessibility of the products and the technology,' HP Country manager of Personal Services Group Tiberiu Dobre said.

The Bucharest-based location has been chosen together with Altex, measures about 100 sq.m., and two UK companies, namely Briggs Hillier is the designer, whereas H.J Martin is the builder.HP is the biggest IT Company worldwide and its portfolio encompasses print solutions, PCs, IT infrastructure, posted 114.6 billion dollar turnover, during the fiscal year 2009. The Company opened more than 160 stores, during the past two years and it plans to replicate its locations in countries such as Spain, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Serbia.

Altex Romania tops the local retail home appliances, electronics, IT, communication and multimedia market, owns 62 Altex stores ad 13 Media Galaxy ones, and is the min shareholder in companies such as Complet Elector Serv, IT equipment maker, and Cometex SA (a real estate company).
