Two projects developed by Siveco Romania were nominated by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) among the best project management achievements.
The two recognition-winning products are the eComunitate portal and the ICT school and business Training Program; both of them were developed under the Knowledge-based Economy project developed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI), and nominated by IPMA, informs a Siveco Romania release.
At the recent IPMA Gala in Istanbul, the Knowledge-based Economy project was praised for its innovative and complex character, as well as for project management excellence.
Siveco Romania is among the few companies in the world to have all its projects enrolled in the various editions of the competition make it to the status of finalist.
Knowledge-based Economy is a strategic groundbreaking project addressing the Romanian knowledge society. Its major components refer to all the areas related to knowledge society, and are aimed at: ensuring access to information with a view to reducing the digital divide; digital literacy and creating competences; promoting and providing local e-Governance services and stimulating entrepreneurship initiatives for local sustainable development in 255 Romanian communities.
The eComunitate portal developed under this project facilitates communication between and with these disadvantaged communities, providing general public access to information in areas such as education, culture, administration and entrepreneurship. The portal presents the 255 communities and includes over 3,000 articles in Romanian and English, being the same and time a social network where users transfer knowledge and generate content with the help of Web 2.0 technologies.
The second finalist component, the ICT school and business Training Program, is aimed at creating and developing a critical mass of people with ICT skills, capable of addressing specific professional challenges, to actively participate in local development through modern knowledge means and instruments. The over 5,200 people trained under this project acquired computer literacy and information on ways to use them in education and entrepreneurship.
