Jiri Sitler is the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Bucharest

Secretary of State for European Affairs with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) Bogdan Aurescu on Monday received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Bucharest, Jiri Sitler, who presented on this occasion the copies of his letters of accreditation as chief of the Czech diplomatic mission in Romania.

According to a release of MAE , Jiri Sitler is going to present his letters of accreditation to President Traian Basescu very soon. During the meeting, the Secretary of State for European Affairs wished good luck to the newly appointed Ambassador in his mission in Bucharest and reviewed the perspectives of bilateral relations, with emphasizes on the importance of strengthening political dialogue and economic cooperation.

Moreover, the two officials exchanged opinions on topics of common interest on the European and international agenda, among which the energy security, the new financial perspectives and the EU budget reform, as well as results of the recent NATO Summit in Lisbon.

The two dignitaries evoked the traditional relations of friendship existing between Romania and the Czech Republic and underlined the importance of capitalizing on existing opportunities, especially at economic and investment level, the MAE release also showed.
