Tuborg opens plant at Pantelimon on Monday
Agerpres - 13 Decembrie 2010
Tuborg Romania on Monday opens the plant at Pantelimon (near Bucharest), Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely being also invited to attend the event.
The company's managers, together with the Environment Minister, will review the history of a company, which assumed the responsibility of being one of the social players that have the power to make a change for the better.
The first greenfield plant in Eastern Europe celebrates its 13th anniversary this year. All this time the URBB, also known as Tuborg Romania, was one of the corporate players responsible for promoting some behaviours, which registered a positive social impact, from the care for the production process to the sustained environmental protection campaigns and the promotion of a proactive attitude.
URBB entered the Romanian beer market in 1994, as an importer of the Tuborg brand. In 1997, the plant at Pantelimon, a greenfield investment, began to produce. Today, URBB owns production licences for Tuborg, Carlsberg, Holsten and Skoll and imports the brands Guinness and Kilkenny. The beer business ensures over 80 percent of the URBB's revenues.
