Number of Romanians who left to work abroad has tripled in 2010
Agerpres - 13 Decembrie 2010
The number of Romanians who left with a contract of employment abroad has tripled this year compared with 2009, according to data provided by the Thera Group.
'The economic downturn has forced many Romanians to opt for a job abroad, offering better conditions and remuneration than they could obtain in the country. The growth recorded this year demonstrates that our business strategy was correct, and next year we expect to continue this positive trend', said the general manager of Thera Group, Cristian Tudor.
Founded in 2007, Thera Group is a leading player on the market of labor force recruitment for abroad. This year, the company opened two new agencies in Cluj-Napoca (center-west) and in Bucharest, in addition to those already existing in those two cities and in Constanta (south-east).
Next year, the company intends to expand to the 'strategic cities in Romania' and to diversify its range of human resource services. 'For Work & Travel program type in Spain, addressed to students, for summer 2011, we already have almost all the offers covered', said Cristian Tudor.
In 2010, the most popular recruitment programs have been those for Work & Travel in Spain and Greece, as well as jobs offered in the hospitality industry or agriculture. Many applicants preferred the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden and Denmark), where the majority of jobs are for the professional drivers, the specialists in oil and construction fields.
