Number of insolvencies reached 19,560 in November

The number of companies which got in insolvency over the first 11 months of the year was 19,558 a little under the level of the whole of last year when 19,894 companies got into the situation not to pay their debts, according to the National Office of the Commercial Register (ONRC).
In Bucharest and the Bihor county there were registered most insolvencies between January and November 2010, with 2,100 and 1,100 companies respectively which entered in payment incapacity. At the other end is Mehedinti and Covasna where only approximately 100 companies got into insolvency, according to Mediafax.
The last two months of the period under analysis were special for the increase in the number of the companies in insolvency against the previous months. Thus, in October and November 2,102 and 2,072 companies respectively got into insolvency against 1,315 in September and 901 in August, 1,984 in July and 1,887 in June.
The companies with most financial difficulties are the ones in commerce, over 8,000 companies getting into insolvency as well as those in manufacturing and constructions, with 3,057 and 2,805 in payment incapacity. On the other hand, according to ONRC over the first eleven months there was a number of 64,018 activity suspension at the level of the whole country, against 128,193 in 2009 with a drop of 50,1%.
The number of voluntary dissolutions diminished, from 22,152 between January-November 2009 to 7,255 this year, which means a reduction of 67,3%. In exchange, voluntary write off increased by 324% for 166,626 companies, from 39,309 in 2009. In this situation, ONRC included a total number of 127,293 write off made by ONRC following the deadline when natural persons and family associations could opt to change into authorized natural persons, individual companies or family companies.
The number of registrations was of 114,781 companies, as compared to 109,360 companies registered over the first 11 months in 2009, thus that at the end of June there were active over 888,000 companies. Against the similar period of 2009, the highest increase of the number of registered companies of 69% was recorded in the domain of electricity production and supply, gas, hot water and air conditioning.
