Agerpres - 30 Decembrie 2010
Ana Hotels company, owned by businessman George Copos, has completed upgrading works at the Sport Hotel in Poiana Brasov (Bucegi Mountains, central Romania) through a loan from BRD - Groupe Société Générale, worth 11 million euros, this being reopened under the Sport Hotel & Spa brand.
'We had to close (the hotel - editor's note). I had to choose between the closing, and a loss of 200 jobs, or investing. So I chose to invest. We hope to recover the investment within 20 years, but we have to reimburse the money to the BRD in 10 years. Meanwhile, we expect to see Bucharest-Brasov Motorway finalized', said the hotel owner, George Copos.
'At this time, the hotel is among the top 30 hotels in Europe located in ski resorts', Copos also said.
According to the hotel's general director, Carmina Gal, one of the main attractions of the new asset is a Spa based on Austrian and French experience in the field.
'The Spa has a cost of about 3.5 million euros and covers an area of 1,900 sqm', Carmina Gal specified.
Sport Hotel & Spa opening is part of the cycle of events marking the 20th anniversary since ANA holding founding.
