BNR's foreign exchange reserves increase almost EUR 4.13 bn in 2010

The foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) in 2010 registered a 4.129 billion lei increase from 28.303 billion euros at the end of 2009 to 32.432 billion euros at the end of December 2010.
On December 31, 2010, the foreign exchange reserves of BNR amounted to 32.432 billion euros, compared with 32.8 billion euros on November 30, 2010, a Monday BNR release reads. In December 2010, the foreign exchange reserves decreased 368 million euros.
In December 821 million euro inputs were registered representing the modification of the minimum foreign exchange reserves made up by the crediting institutions, the European Commission's account feeding, the Public Finance Ministry's (MFP) accounts feeding, revenues from international reserves' administration and others, and 1.189 billion euro outputs representing the modifications of the minimum foreign exchange reserves made up by the crediting institutions, payments of installments and interests corresponding to the direct foreign public debt and to the one guaranteed by the State, as well as the US dollar and GB pound depreciation in relation to the euro, having as an impact the decrease in the share of those two currencies within the denominated international reserve.
The gold reserve maintained at 103.7 tonnes. In the conditions of the developments of the international prices, its value accounted for 3.518 billion euros.
Romania's international reserves (foreign currencies plus gold) on December 31, 2010, amounted to 35.95 billion euros, compared with 36.322 billion euros on November 30, 2010.
The outstanding payments in January 2011 in the account of the direct or guaranteed by the MFP foreign public debt amount to 139.8 million euros.
