Romanian stocks end up 1.18% in first trading session of the year

The quotations of the shares listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) - the evolution of which is tracked by the BET-C composite index - on Monday inched up 1.18 pct on average, whereas the shares of the five financial investment companies (SIFs, the evolution of which is reflected by the BET-FI index) climbed 1.75 pct on average.
Shares of 52 issuers changed hands on the main BVB market, the 'Regular', 38 of which scored an appreciation in quotations, six kept steady and eight declined.
BVB trades amounted to 5.28 million euros (RON 22.56 million), whilst trades carried out on the RASDAQ over-the-counter market stood at 182,282 euros.
The BET index that reflects the evolution of the most liquid ten listed issuers gained 1.86 percentage points, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT of the top-liquid 25 issuers saw an appreciation by 1.7 pct and the sectoral energy and related utilities index BET-NG advanced 1.06 pct.
The top liquid issuers were SIF 5 Oltenia - with trades worth RON 3.27 million, and Petrom - RON 3.23 million.
