MFP sells T-bonds worth almost EUR 190 mn

The Public Finance Ministry (MFP), on Monday borrowed almost 190 million euros (over 799.97 million lei) from the commercial banks in an issue of discount benchmark Government bonds placed on tender through the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
The bonds have a one-year maturity, and the issue was adjudicated at an average yield of 6.81 percent. The discount rate's average level was 6.37 percent.
The total value of the issue was 800 million lei, while the total demand of the 12 banks participating in the tender accounted for 2.8 billion lei.
Twelve primary dealers submitted bids to acquire government securities: the Alpha Bank Romania, BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, the Carpatica Commercial Bank, the Romanian Commercial Bank, the Transilvania Bank, Bancpost, the CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, the ING Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, the RBS Romania and the UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
MFP planned in January security tenders worth over 1.066 billion euros, namely 3.8 billion lei, six T-bill and bond issues, respectively, read the data posted on the MFP web page.
