World Bank, willing to provide expertise to Romanian Gov't for reform implementation by ministries

The World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Philippe Le Houerou, expressed on Tuesday, in the Government, the availability of the World Bank to offer Romania expertise in order to implement reform actions and to improve the activities of the ministries, informed the press office of the Government in a press release remitted to Agerpres.
Prime Minister Emil Boc, deputy PM Marko Bela and other Cabinet members had a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank to discuss key reform actions and how to improve the ministries activity following the functional analysis conducted by the World Bank.
'Vice-President Philippe Le Houerou has pointed out the World Bank readiness to provide expertise for the implementation of reform and to improve the activities of the ministries ', says the Government's release.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government has prioritized the fastest possible access to the EU funds for transport infrastructure works.
In collaboration with the World Bank, the Ministry of Transport has prioritized its portfolio of projects for the period 2013-2020, as well as the priority infrastructure projects, European funds eligible, that Romania is to implement in this field until 2013.
In his turn, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Valeriu Tabara, said the ministry's reform plan and of its subordinated institutions was outlined in view of the Government's priorities in agriculture - food safety and rural development.
In respect of the Ministry of Finance, Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu said that eight courses of action have been identified in the area of public finances, the most important being the improvement of the budget credibility and fiscal consolidation.
As for the education sector, Daniel Funeriu underlined that his 'top priority' is the application of the National Education Law.
Results achieved so far on the sidelines of the analysis conducted by the World Bank, at the request of the Executive in Bucharest, will be used to underpin the ministries reform process.
