The South-Koreean parliamentary delegation discussed joint economic projects in Bucharest

The minister of foreign affairs Teodor Baconschi received on Tuesday 11 January 2011 a parliamentary delegation from the Korean Republic, led by the vice-chairman of the parliamentary group for friendship with Romania from the National Assembly of the Korean Republic.
The two parties analysed the evolution of the value of the declaration regarding the establishment of a strategic partnership between Romania and the Republic of Korea ( September 2008) and the continuation of the implementation of the Joint Plan of Action, signed in July 2010, on the occasion of the visit to Seoul of the minister of foreign affairs. The head of Romanian diplomacy said, in this context, that investment of the South-Korean companies in Romania is very important, showing the possibility of setting up works of technological capacity, such as Nokia. It was also mentioned Romania's interest for the South-Korean companies to take part in bids for the construction of some new nuclear reactors.
On the other hand, the talks showed the common will of the two parties to put to value the multiple possibilities of cooperation in the sector of small and medium entreprises, of direct investment in capacities to make electronics with high degree of technology, of nuclear energy, cultural cooperation, etc.
The minister of foreign affairs launched an appeal for the continuation of efforts at parliamentary level of the two countries, for the development of bilateral friendship and cooperation relations, at multiple levels, with focus on the encouragement of the South-Korean companies to amplify their direct investment in Romania, in the greenfield formula.
