Statistics: Romanian population down 4,128 in November

The number of newborns registered in Romania in November 2010 was 17,773 (accounting for a birth rate of 10.1 per 1,000 inhabitants), whereas the number of deaths was 21,901 (12.4 deceased per 1,000 inhabitants), resulting in a negative growth of the population of 4,128 persons, informs a Friday release of the National Statistics Institute (INS).
According to the cited source, the number of November newborns was by 755 higher than in October 2010, whereas the number of deaths exceeded by 253 the figure registered in October, taking the population down by 4,128 persons in November, compared to October's decrease by 4,630.The number of infants under the age of one who died in November was 177 (10 infants aged below one year per 1,000 live births), up in comparison with October's rate of 9.0 infants less than one year old per 1,000 live births.
