Finance Ministry sells RON 500 million worth of benchmark bonds

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Thursday raised RON 500 million (117.65 million euros) in a benchmark bond issue auctioned off by the National Bank of Romania to local commercial banks.
The government stock that reaches maturity in April 2015 sold for an average yield of 7.16 pct. The coupon rate was 6 pct.
The issue was worth a total of RON 500 million and the 12 banks offered bids for an aggregate RON 1.55 bln.Submitting bids were 12 banks - Alpha Bank Romania, BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
MFP has scheduled for January government stock auctions worth RON 4.8 billion, specifically six T-bill and bond issues, reads data published on the MFP website.
