Rompetrol cuts price of fuels by 3 bani/litre as of Tuesday
Agerpres - 25 Ianuarie 2011
Rompetrol Downstream, the retail arm of Rompetrol Group in Romania, will cut, as of Tuesday, the reference prices of the fuels sold through its own petrol stations by 3 bani/litre, following Friday's elimination of the one cent / litre tax for the Special Fund for Petroleum Products (FSPP), the company informs.
Thus, as of Tuesday, the reference price for one litre of Efix 95 petrol will be 5.01 lei, 5.69 lei for one litre of Alto 101 petrol, 4.98 lei for one litre of Efix diesel fuel and 5.32 lei for one litre of Diesel Alto 55 fuel. (1 euro = 4.26 lei)
According to legal dispositions referring to FSPP, the payment of this tax is made by the producer when fuel is supplied to distributors. The January 21-25 period was necessary for the sale of fuel stocks for which the said tax had already been paid (14 dollars/tonne for petrol and 12 dollars/tonne for diesel fuel).
FSPP was set up to settle the debts of former Romanian Oil Company (some 647.3 million dollars). The 0.01 dollars/litre tax was applied since January 1, 2001 for all fuels produced and sold in Romania and since 2005 it was applied also for exported fuels.
Currently, the total sums paid by Rompetrol Downstream to the state budget (taxes, excise duties, VAT) represent 49% of the final price of petrol and 46% of that of diesel fuel. At the same time, the excise duty level in the final price of fuels represents 29% for petrol and 26% for diesel fuel.
Rompetrol Downstream operates domestically a network of approximately 450 petrol stations (130 are its own stations, 160 are Partner Rompetrol ones and 160 are Rompetrol Expres ones).
