Market of profile systems with architectural application to grow by 5-7% in 2011
Agerpres - 25 Ianuarie 2011
The market of profile systems with architectural application is to increase in 2011 by about 5-7 percent, up to some 117 million euros, due to rehabilitation programs and expansion of store networks, sales director of Alumil Rom Industry SA, Horatiu Capmare, told Agerpres on Monday.
According to him, the advance of this market will be given by thermal rehabilitation, expansion of large retail chains and grocery stores. 'In addition, the big banks are starting, yet cautiously, to cover the gaps left by smaller competitors, in the process of contraction, from whom they are taking over the premises and upgrade them. State investments are very important as well, of the Ministry of Development, gyms, swimming pools, ice rinks, Horatiu Capmare said, adding that several Aqualand type projects are in a very advanced stage.
Alumil Rom sales manager also said that, 'unfortunately, we are talking almost exclusively about foreign investments, of big developers coming from abroad because the real estate developers in Romania have still thousands of unsold apartments and their quality is terrible.'
He also said the year started promising: the state resumed the thermal rehabilitation projects, and customers have realized what means a poor quality, cheaper profiles.
'Warranties have expired for early rehabilitations and it was seen what a total failure they were, so that now there is no need to convince anyone to ask for aluminum profiles. And those who coordinate projects of thermal rehabilitation have understood the difference between quality profiles and some thermopane glass, which after the guarantees expire can leave cold and water to invade the house, condensation on glass being the slightest problem', said Horatiu Capmare.
The market for profile systems with architectural application ranges between 100-110 million euros annually, and Alumil Rom Industry SA is the leader with a market share estimated at 35-38 percent. In total there are 10 to 12 players, but the last two hold a market share of 12-15 percent, respectively, 7-8 percent. Basically, it is an oligopolistic market with 5-6 companies.
Alumil Rom Industry SA is one of the 55 branches worldwide of the Greek Alumil Milonas Group. It operates on the Romanian market since 1997, the total investment during this period amounting to 20 million euros, of which over 3 million euros represented by the electrostatic painting line in Bucharest.
