BNR to no longer take EUR 1 bn from IMF because it has sufficient reserves

Romania's Central Bank (BNR) will no take one billion euros from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) because it has sufficient reserves, BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu said on Monday. According to him, the international gold reserves of BNR amount to 36 billion euros.
'The agreed preventive agreements are to be approved by the EU and other international financial institutions and these start from the economic measures had in view by Romania's Government and BNR', Isarescu added.
He mentioned the economic policies of Romania were validated by the international financial institutions. From the 13 billion euros from the EU, 9.5 billion euros was drawn by BNR and 2.4 billion euros was drawn by the Finance Ministry.
