List of public-private partnership projects completed by 1 March

The government already has a preliminary list of projects within the public-private partnership. The list will be completed by 1 March and then will be presented to the domestic and international business circles to attract investors, premier Emil Boc declared on Wednesday night at the press conference held at the end of the Executive meeting.

The premier pointed out that there were projects in the field of transports for building highways, the construction of new emergency hospitals and building hydropower plants, next to other strategic objectives for Romania.

Premier Boc also mentioned the projects were of national interest . Local authorities have to identify projects which could be completed in a public-private partnership.A week ago the premier had requested the ministers to present the list of projects which could be completed through the public private partnership. Boc reminded that the list should include a series of projects in infrastructure, in the field of transports, health, agriculture and environment. 'accent should be laid on transports which means resuming partnerships for Comarnic-Brasov section or the new Sibiu-Pitesti section, which has not been covered in corridor I, and also on the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Environment, of Health, Agriculture and Energy. These are field which could be the object of the law on private-public partnership', the premier showed.

President Traian Basescu promulgated the law of public-private partnership on 30 September 2010, which stipulates the way in which public-private partnership is carried out for the design , financing construction modernization, operation, maintenance, development and transfer of public goods or services.
