European Council President Herman Van Rompuy starts today a visit to Romania

European Council President Herman Van Rompuy will visit Romania Thursday and will hold talks with President Traian Basescu at the presidential palace, the Presidency said in a press release Wednesday.
The two officials will discuss economic issues, Romania's accession to the Schengen Area and the situation in North Africa, reads the press release.Van Rompuy and Basescu will hold a joint news conference.
