ACTMedia - 24 Februarie 2011
The authorities are analyzing the possibility of reducing social contributions, especially for employers, taking into account for now making labor market flexible, Finance Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu said on Wednesday.
Ialomitianu drew attention to the fact that in Romania the level of taxation is high compared to other countries.'We are trying to help more the business environment,' said the finance minister, adding that the state is focusing on long-term investments.
'Without the unblocking of lending, things will not be successful. Many companies have export demand, but they need financing. Banks should be more courageous,' said the finance minister, according to whom 2011 is the year of economic growth.
Minister Ialomitianu made these statements at the conference called '2011 Financial-Banking Year,' with the topic 'Where economic growth may come from and on what lines of business are under focus?', held on Wednesday at the Central Bank by the press company FinMedia, in partnership with the Romanian Association of Banks.
