Analysts estimate that the annual rate of inflation went up to 7.3% in February

Consumption prices went up in February by 0.5% and the annual rate of inflation was 7.3% according to the average of the opinion expressed by the members of the Association of Financial-banking analysts in Romania (AAFBR). The opinions of the analysts with regard to monthly inflation varied between 0.3% and 0.7% and the estimates regarding the annual rate were placed between 6.5% and 7.5%.
For the end of 2011,the AAFBR members estimate that the annual rate of inflation could be situated at 4.5% ( the estimates vary between 4.2% and 5%). The expectations regarding the annual rate of inflation at the end of 2011 are on the increase against the estimates of one month, when the estimated inflation was of 4.3%.
At the same time, the AAFBR members estimate that at the end of 2012 the annual rate of inflation will be 3.5% ( estimates vary between 3.1% and 5.0%).
AAFBR is a professional association, set up in January 2008 and gathers almost 79 analysts in the banking sector, pension funds, investment management companies, insurance companies and the capital market.
The National Institute for Statistics will present the official data with regard at the indices of consumption prices for February on 10 March.
