Yahoo! launches portal in Romanian

Yahoo! Software giant launched www.yahoo.com in the Romanian language, offering news and information picked from Romanian news pages.

Moreover, users can create email addresses with the .ro extensions.

Email addresses like name@yahoo.ro recognize the rest of the yahoo accounts such as yahoo.com, ymail.com, and others.

The messenger service is still in English, for the moment. You can access the portal both at www.yahoo.ro or ro.yahoo.com. When users access www.yahoo.ro they are redirected to ro.yahoo.com. When they want to read the news, they are redirected to the initial source of the news.

Yahoo.ro head column numbers four main categories, namely News, Finance, Sports and Lifestyle, all in the Romanian language, Shortcuts to yahoo e-mail, games, yahoo.com, wheatear forecast and messenger lie left. Favorite links and web pages can be added to the left as well..

Yahoo numbered about 8.2 million Romanian users, most of them using the emails and instant messaging services, said director of sales development for Yahoo! emerging markets business unit Marvin Liao, in last November .

Romania numbers round 9- 10 million Internet users and 80 percent of them use the Yahoo! online services.
