South Korean companies are encouraged to increase investments in Romania

Secretary of State for Global Affairs with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) Doru Costea encouraged South Korean companies to increase their investments in the Romanian economy.
The urge was given through the agency of Deputy Minister for Trade and Energy with the Seoul Ministry of Economy Park Young June.
According to a press release issued by MAE, Secretary of State Doru Costea during the meeting on Monday presented the South Korean official the numerous opportunities for investments in Romania, in energy, infrastructure, IT and agriculture included. The Romanian official also emphasized the economic and strategic importance of the port of Constanta (south-eastern Romania) especially in the context of the EU adopting the Danube Strategy.
The South Korean Deputy Minister conveyed the firm will to fully turn to account the opportunities existing in the economy for boosting bilateral trade exchanges and amplifying the level of the investments made by Korean companies in Romania, especially in energy, the renewable one included, and pointed to the interest in using the extensive potential of bilateral cooperation in IT.
On this occasion the two sides voiced satisfaction with the ascending trend of the bilateral political and economic relations. They also revealed the common interest in turning to account the declaration on establishing a strategic partnership between Romania and the Republic of Korea, which was signed in September 2008, during the state visit paid to Seoul by Romania's President and in continuing the implementation of the common action plan, which was signed in July 2010, during the visit paid to Seoul by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, reads the MAE release.
The South Korean Deputy Minister paid this visit in the context of his participating in the fifth session of the joint committee of industrial cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Korea.
