MFP raises RON 317 mn at benchmark securities auction

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Thursday raised RON 317 million (some 74.59 million euros) through an issue of benchmark securities, auctioned by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
The securities mature in April 2015, bearing a yield of 7.35 percent and paying a 6 percent coupon.
Total issuance value stood at RON 400 million and twelve banks submitted bids for RON 547 million.
Submitting the bids were 12 primary dealers - Alpha Bank Romania, BRD- Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvnaia, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
In 2010, MFP has borrowed on the domestic market more than RON 41 billion, after in 2009 it attracted almost RON 65 billion. In February this year the volume of loans taken from banks stood at RON 4.61 billion and since this year start at RON 12.1 billion.
