ACTMedia - 28 Martie 2011
About 77 percent of the Romanians were stressed out in 2010 by debts due to banks, while the same issue was experienced only by 69 percent in 2009 and roughly 60 percent in 2007, reads a survey conducted by market research company IRSOP conducted last year and made public by BCR the Bank for Homes.
Around 53 percent of the Romanian people prefer to save money rather than open lines of credit, while only 39 percent preferred saving in 2009 and 32 percent in 2007. On the other hand, only 21 percent of the Romanians would save 1,000 euros, while only 22 percent preferred to do this back in 2009.
56 percent of Romanians used to make future plans in 2010 with only 52 percent back in 2009. The survey also points out that 74 percent of Romanians expressed their total lack of desire for luxury items compared to the 63 percent in the previous year. 74 percent of the Romanians are giving a thought to saving and cutting expenses.
As regards the saving method employed, 77 percent of the Romanians do not save money at all, 13 percent do it once every two to three months, 3 percent once every 4 to 12 months and 12 percent are doing it on a monthly basis. The average amount saved by this latter 12 percent was 132 euros.
The survey reads that 80 percent of the Romanians are willing to invest in order to improve their home comfort over the next five years, mainly on restorations (40 percent) and major overhauling (32 percent). More than 70 percent of those interested in the saving-crediting instrument (Bauspar) are not pressed by urgent housing needs, but rather opt out for renovations and are mainly flat-dwellers in blocks. The urgent needs are triggered mostly by the necessity of repairs and a better energy management, generally preferred by house owners.
