EUR 15 mn EU funds for transborderly projects between Romania and Serbia

The ministry of regional development and tourism (MDRT) in partnership with the Bureau for European Integration in the government of the Serbian Republic launch the second appeal for proposals for projects, financed by the EU with 15,3 million euro in a programme of cooperation between the two countries.
The projects will be financed from Instrument of Assistence for pre-accession (IPA) in the IPA programme for transborderly cooperation Romania – Serbia. The deadline for the proposals is 27 June 2011, the press release of the ministry says .
Potential benefactors ( public authorities, organisations/non-profit entities, NGOs, public sector operators)can require financing for economic and social development, environment and preparation for emergency situations and the promotion of exchanges between communities. « The applicants must meet the criterial established through the guides for the applicant and demonstrate a clear commitment for the concept of transborderly cooperation » the press release says. The sums offered to the projects are between minimum 30,000 euro and maximum two million euro, the contribution of the EU being the maximum of 85% of eligible expenditure. The sums corresponding to co-financing for the Romanian beneficiaries will come from the state budget as 13% and own contribution ( 2%).
The partners project managers, Romanian and Serbian can receive payment in advance from IPA funds in 15% of the value of the financing contract.
