European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, Michel barnier, starts today an official visit to Romania

European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier will be paying an official visit to Romania on Thursday, the European Commission Representation in Bucharest reported on Wednesday.

Barnier is expected to meet President Traian Basescu; Economy Minister Ion Ariton; Fiancé Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu; Secretary General of the Government Daniela Andreeescu; Chief of the Department for European Affairs Bogdan Manoiu and Governor of the National Bank of Romania Mugur Isarescu.

Also on Thursday, Barnier will meet Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower chamber of Romania's Parliament, Roberta Anastase and Chairman of the Senate, the upper chamber of Parliament, Mircea Geoana as well as officials of parliamentary committees. The European commissioner will also attend the opening of a roundtable conference on the implementation of the internal market rules in Romania, where invited to attend are officials of the relevant Romanian institutions.
