Romanian suppliers could deliver wood building materials to Japan for reconstruction
ACTMedia - 1 Aprilie 2011
Romanian suppliers could deliver to Japan wood building materials, especially softwood, amounting to approximately 200 million euros, to support the reconstruction process.
According to a release of the National Association of Importers and Exporters of Romania (ANEIR), in sign of solidarity with the sufferings of the Japanese people hit by the recent disaster, the Romanian exporters decided to establish a rapid response cell within ANEIR aiming at supporting the reconstruction process of Japan.
In partnership with the Foreign Trade Department of Romania, the Romanian Embassy in Tokyo, the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest, JETRO and other Japanese private associative structures, ANEIR took the initiative of sending an offer of Romanian wood building material products, of maximum necessity in this period in the places destroyed.
In parallel, possible suppliers of such products are being identified in Romania, who are willing to restructure their activity by organizing prolonged or supplementary work shifts, or to postpone the delivery of unfolding orders for partners in other countries (with their agreement), in order to prioritize the deliveries to the Japanese companies.
ANEIR is now waiting for the detailed requests of the members of the Wood Importers Association of Japan and, as soon as the technical-economic and financial parameters of the collaboration are established (with the support of Eximbank of Romania, included), all the requested sizes will be shipped fast, as the suppliers have been already informed on the outstanding quality requirements of the Japanese users.
