Eurostat: Romania, ranked eight in EU in industrial output price increase in February

Romania registered a 0.6 percent increase in industrial output prices in February 2011 compared with the previous month, while in the European Union and in the euro area the industrial output prices went up 0.8 percent, according to the data released on Monday by the European Office of Statistics (Eurostat).
In January 2011, the industrial output prices increased 1.3 percent in the euro area and 1.2 percent in EU27.Among the EU member states, the highest increases were registered in Lithuania (2 percent), Belgium and Denmark (1.9 percent both), Greece (1.3 percent), Finland (1.2 percent), Great Britain, Holland and Bulgaria (1.1 percent), Ireland and Spain (0.9 percent), Portugal and France (0.8 percent) and Romania (0.6 percent). Only in three member states there was a decline in the industrial output prices in February compared with the previous month: Slovakia (0.3 percent), Sweden (0.2 percent) and Estonia (0.1 percent) and in Cyprus the prices stagnated.
The annual changes, February 2011 compared with February 2010, witnessed a 7.1 percent increase in EU27 and a 6.6 percent increase in the euro area. The highest price increases were registered in Bulgaria (12.5 percent), Holland (10.3 percent), Belgium (10.2 percent), Great Britain (9.9 percent), Lithuania (9.4 percent), Hungary (9.2 percent) and Romania (9 percent).
