Study: Romanian expect price rises this year
ACTMedia - 13 Aprilie 2011
Over half of Romanian expect the present crisis to continue for another 2-5 years and 92% of the population anticipates price rise this year, according to a study made by the market research company ISRA Center.
'The Romanians' confidence in economic recovery is rather low. Most of them expect price rises in 2011 (92%). At the same time 56% of them estimate the crisis to continue for another 2-5 years. There is also a category of 'extreme pessimists' who consider that the crisis will last more than 5 years (10% of town dwellers with over 50,000 inhabitants). In exchange, only 5% are optimistic, saying that they see Romania getting out of crisis in less than 1 year.
People from Muntenia are the most pessimistic, both as concerns the duration of the economic crisis and expectations concerning price rises. At the opposite pole we find people from Moldova, more confident in the economic situation, Mediafax writes.
'It is interesting that we cannot see differences concerning future confidence according to the income of participants in the study. Both people with low incomes and those with higher incomes are not very confident about the country's economic situation,' says ISRA Center. 92% of participants in the study consider that this year we will have price rises. It also points out that most respondents expect an amplification of marketing shares, such as a large number of marketing actions, such as advertising, promotions and special offers, in small package launching but not in increasing product diversity in the Romanian market.
ISRA Center was set up in 2001 with Israeli capital. Last year the company became exclusive representative in Romania for the international network of independent research companies.
