Agerpres - 14 Aprilie 2011
The energy market in Southeast Europe has not a bad outlook and now that market is not assessed enough to certain degree. That is what deputy general director of Gazprom Neft, director general of the Serbian oil company NIS Gazprom Neft Kiril Kravchenko said in an interview with FOCUS News Agency.
In his words - the Balkans are a region with good potential for economic growth. 'That's why two years ago, Gazprom Neft purchased Naphtha Serb Industry (NIS), which became the first European asset of the company. This is the first step for business development in Southeastern Europe,' Kiril Kravchenko said.
'Our next step is Bosnia and Herzegovina, where this year we began exploring for deposits of oil and gas. Clearly we will not be limited to this and we seek absolutely all possibilities that the Balkan region offer us. Besides in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gazprom Neft is interested in Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Macedonia and part of Croatia. In these countries, we see opportunities for developing cooperation in the field of wholesale and retail. Romania, Hungary, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina have the potential in the extraction of hydrocarbons, ' Kiril Kravchenko said.
