Fondul Proprietatea – Ministry of Finance is the shareholder requesting a higher dividend

Following the release of new regulation issued by the Securities Commission (CNVM), Fondul Proprietate (FP) has revealed the identify of the shareholder which proposed a higher dividend to be paid out of the 2010 net profit.

Thus, Ministry of Finance has proposed a dividend RON 0.03141 per share (corresponding to a pay-out of 95%), while the management has proposed a dividend of RON 0.01569. The shareholders will chose between these proposals at the next GSM, but given the fact that Ministry of Finance is the largest shareholder with an equity interest of 36.8% and the existing voting caps for the other shareholders with stakes above 1%, we see higher odds for the larger dividend proposal.
