Eurostat : Romania has the most important drop in new orders in industry in the EU

Romania recorded in February the most important drop in new orders in industry out of all member states of the European Union ( EU) of 4.7% as compared to January, at the level of EU the indicator going up by 1.2% the Eurostat data show.
Out of the 22 states for which the Eurostat of the European Commission presented data, the new orders for industry increased in February, monthly in 13 countries, the others having drops.
The most important increases are observed in Denmark ( 16.3%), Hungary ( 10.9%) and Portugal ( 5.4%).
After Romania, the second place in the list of drops is Lithuania ( 2.7%) followed by the Czech Republic ( 2.1%). Annually, the new orders for industry in Romania went up by 24.5%. At the same time, the indicator advanced in the case of all states for which Eurostat presented data. The most important increases were recorded in Estonia ( 60.1%), Denmark ( 57.9%), Latvia ( 56.1%). The weakest advances were observed in the UK ( 7.1%), Spain ( 10%) and the Czech Republic ( 12.5%).
In the EU the average increase of new orders for industry was 19.8%.
Eurostat observes that the monthly evolutions of orders are adjusted seasonly, and the data referring to annual evolutions are presented in gross series.
The National Institute for Statistics announced at the beginning of April that in February the new orders in industry as a total ( domestic and foreign market) dropped in nominal terms against the previous month by 16.1% and against the month corresponding to the previous year the orders went up by 24.5%.
