Finance Ministry raises over EUR 402 mn in T-bill auction

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Monday raised over 402 mln euros (RON 1.641 bln) from the commercial banks operating in Romania, through a discount T-bill issue placed through the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
The 12-month bills were placed for a cut-off yield of 6.85 pct per annum. The weighted average discount rate was 6.41 pct and the reoffer price was 93.514 pct. The issue was worth RON 1.5 bln lei and the total bid of the 12 participating banks was of RON 3.005 billion plus.
The 12 primary dealers that participated in the bidding were as follows: Alpha Bank Romania, BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Europe Plc Dublin, ING Bank N.V. Amsterdam - Bucharest branch, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
