IRSS survey: Almost 70% of the Romanians consider that things go in a wrong direction in this country

Over half of the Romanians – 69% consider that things go in a wrong direction in the country, and 9% consider the contrary, according to a survey made by the Romanian Institute for Social Studies (IRSS) and made public on Wednesday, in a press conference.
According to the survey, 20% of the interviewed consider that in Romania things do not go either in the right direction or in the wrong direction. A percentage of 38% of the Romanians think that in Romania things will be different in a year, 36% considered that it would be worse, and 17% that they would be better. As regards trust in public institutions, 83% of the Romanians trust the government very little, 90% trust the Parliament very little.
A percentage of 82% of the Romanians trust the presidency very little. 69% of the interviewed trust the church even more, and 65% of the Romanians trust the army very much. The percentage of the Romanians who trust other institutions : 63% the police, 70% the justice, 69% the trade unions, 54% the town hall, 60% the mass media and 63% the employers.
A percentage of 74% of the Romanians have a non-favourable attitude or very unfavourable against president Traian Basescu, 65% have this attitude towards Crin Antonescu, 76% towards Emil Boc, 65% towards Victor Ponta, 66% towards Cristian Diaconescu, 56% towards Mugur Isarescu, 67% towards Vasile Blaga, 82% towards Gigi Becali, 79% towards Corneliu Vadim Tudor, 67% towards Dan Diaconescu, 77% towards Elena Udrea, 63% Gabriel Oprea and 61% towards Sorin Oprescu.
According to the survey, 57% of the Romanians have a favourable or very favourable opinion about the Social Liberal Union ( USL). In exchange, they have a very unfavourable opinion 69% of the Romanians towards PDL, 67% towards UDMR, 71% towards UNPR, 80% towards PRM and 83% towards PNG.
If there would be parliamentary elections without USL in the lists, 35% would vote for PSD, 20% for PNL, 22% for PDL, 2% for PC, 6% for UDMR, 5% for UNPR, 4% for PRM, 3% for PNG, 3% for other parties, the survey says.
According to it, if next Sunday were parliamentary elections with USL 56% would vote for USL 22% with PDL, 6% with UDMR, 4% with PRM, 5% with UNPR, 4% with PNG, iar 3% with other parties.
If next Sunday there were presidential elections 27% would vote with Victor Ponta, 26% for Crin Antonescu, 16% for Mugur Isărescu, 8% for Cristian Diaconescu, 5% for Kelemen Hunor, 3% for Vadim Tudor, 2% for Gigi Becali, 11% for Dan Diaconescu, iar 2% for other candidates.
« The survey was made for the internal use of the institute, although it is independent, that is why the data will not be completely revealed » Florin Emilian Popa said, the deputy manager of IRSS.
The survey was made between 4-14 April, on a sample of 2,000 people over 18 and 18, being representative for the adult population non-institutionalised in Romania, with an error of +/- 2.2% for a trust level of 95% the survey shows.
