Stock market slides 0.96% on Wednesday

The quotations of the shares listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) decreased 0.96 percent on average on Wednesday, as measured by the BET-C composite index, while the BET-FI index of the financial investment companies (SIFs) went down 2.04 percent.

On the BVB main ring - Regular - shares issued by 55 companies were traded, out of which 22 appreciated, 5 stagnated and 28 dropped.

The BVB transaction volume amounted to 11.53 million euros (47.11 million lei) and on the RASDAQ market transactions accounted for 166,149 euros. The BET index, reflecting the evolution of the ten most liquid shares listed, decreased 1.17 percent, the BET-XT extended blue-chip index of the 25 most liquid companies went down 1.27 percent and the BET-NG index of the companies in the energy and utilities sector dropped 1.62 percent.

The most liquid issuers were Fondul Proprietatea, with 19.51 million lei worth of trades, and SIF5 Oltenia, with 5.07 million lei.
