Slight decline of vacant jobs in Q1 2011

The amount of vacant jobs reported a slight drop of 1,700 (-0.01 percent) in the first quarter of the current year and a 0.18 percent increase of 6,900 jobs on a year-over-year basis, up to 27,300 (+0.69 percent), reveal data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Monday.
According to the quoted source, the highest amount of vacant jobs were available in agriculture, forestry and fishery (1.21 percent) between January and March, 2011. The vacant jobs in extractive industry (0.02 percent) and teaching (0.13 percent) provided the meagrest offer. The INS data reveal that most of the economic fields reported a higher rate and amount of vacant jobs on a year-over-year basis.
The monthly data regarding the vacant jobs came from a selective quarterly statistical survey, with the second month as a reference. The representative sample was made up of 25,000 units, the error margin is 3 percent and the probability is 95 percent.
