Participation of local investors to FP reached 42.23%

The local investors controlled 42.23% of the shares of Fond Proprietatea (FP) at the end of May, compared to 32.18% in April, and the ministry of finances trasferred of the portfolio 11.54%of the capital of the fund in the mentioned month, reducing the participation to 25.24%, Mediafax said.

Following the conversions made in May, the state lost control in AGM of the Fund and cannot impose its decisions. The process of repayment in shares of FP was resumed starting with 2 May. Thus, the package owned by the Romanian natural persons increased to 35.42% since 26.11% in April. The participation owned by the investment funds and companies in Romania increased in May by 0.74 percentage points at 6.81% from 6.07% in April.

Foreign investors continued to buy in May FP shares and owned at the end of the month shares representing 32.5% of the shares, with 1.48 percentage points over the participations at the end of April of 31.03% according the statistics transmitted to the BVB. In May, the package of bonds controlled by the investment funds and the foreign companies at the Fund increased from 22.5% to 23.72%.

The interest of natural persons non-residential in Romania increased for FP shares and they had in their portfolio bonds representing 8.79% of the total, over the level of April of 8.53% of the bonds of the Fund.

The share of Palade van Dusen Georgia, one of the inheriters of the families Malaxa and Auschnitt dropped a little in May, from 6.71% to 6.68% of the FP shares. At the end of April MFP controlled 36.79% of the Fund's shares.

As the state participation dropped under 33% Franklin Templeton, the administrator of the Fund Proprietatea may propose the change of the voting method, as they announced at mid-January through the voice of Greg Konieczny, the fund manager of FP.

As long as the state had over 33% of the FP shares, the ministry of finances had the possibility to vote with all shares in the portfolio, but in the case of the other shareholders a different policy was applied.
