Romania, Argentina eying joint economic projects of various scopes

Romanian research, the manufacturing industry and energy equipment are the main areas where Romania and Argentina can carry out joint projects, deputy chairman of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) Sorin Dimitriu on Tuesday told a specialist conference.
CCCIR and the Embassy of Argentina in Bucharest organized the seminar 'Argentina: Investment opportunities for the Romanian business environment' aimed at presenting the facilities and opportunities Argentina has available to foreign investors.
Chairman of Romania's Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Jose Iacobescu, mentioned other possible cooperation areas such as oilfield equipment, organic and inorganic fertilizers, plant and spare parts, and urged business people from both countries to establish direct contacts based also on the experience of other relevant organizations.
Gabriel Eduardo Puente, economic advisor with the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina in Bucharest, presented his country as a strategic investment destination that moves along with the international economic trends; the speaker reminded that Argentina has four major strategic sectors for investment: agri-foods and beverages, renewable energy, outsourcing of the production of goods and services, research and development.
At the end of the seminar, Ambassador of Argentina in Bucharest, Claudio Perez Paladino answered questions from company representatives in attendance and insisted on the similarities that facilitate the relations between the two countries.
