Eurostat: Romania is sixth in the EU for export growth

Romania is sixth in the EU for export growth over the first three months of the year, 40% , the export deliveries growing from 7.9 billion euro in Q1 of last year to 11.1 billion euro, Eurostat announced on Friday.
Important growth of export over January - March took place in Bulgaria ( 56%), Estonia (55%), Malta ( 51%), Lithuania ( 50%) and Latvia ( 41%). All member states have growth reported.
Germany was left over the first three months as the biggest exporter in the EU with over 260 billion euro, being followed by the Netherlands ( 118 billion euro) and France ( 107 billion euro).
Over the first two months of the year, Romania had the sixth growth of exports in the EU, of 42%.
According to the increase of imports, of 26% Romania is the nineth in Q1. Romania's imports advanced from 10 billion euro to 12.6 billion euro in the interval under analysis. Estonia (52%), Lithuania (50%), Latvia ( 37%) had the most important growth. Only Greece had a drop in imports.
Germany reported imports of almost 220 billion euro in January - March, the biggest in the community space, followed by France ( 130 billion euro), the UK ( 117 billion euro).
The trade deficit of Romania for the first three months, 1.5 billion euro was the nineth as importance in the EU. In January -March of last year, Romania had a trade deficit of 2.1 billion euro.
Nine member states announced trade surplus, and 18 deficits. The biggest deficit of 28.6 billion euro was recorded in the UK and the highest surplus of over 40 billion euro was in Germany.
