'The Romanian-based banks having Greek shareholders have a good capitalization degree and observe the norms of Romania's Central Bank (BNR). They will continue to be loyal to the Romanian market. There is no problem with their activity, and their network numbers over 900 agencies throughout Romania, and they will go on investing, ' Paschalis stressed.
He also specified that it was not the Greek banks which brought toxic products from the US market that unleashed the crisis, and despite the crisis that Greece has been experiencing, the support package announced at the EU level, helps the Greek banking sector.
The National Bank of Greece (NBG), main shareholder of the Banca Romaneasca, EFG Eurobank, main shareholder of Bancpost, Alpha Bank, Piraeus Bank and ATE Bank (former Mindbank) are the main Greek banks that opened branches on the Romanian market.
