Romanian industry turnover up 20.4% in five months

The turnover in the Romanian industry went up 20.4 percent in the five months of the year from Jan.-May 2010, based on the rises in the processing industry at 21.3 percent and mining industry at 3.1 percent, the National Institute of Statistics announced on Wednesday.
In terms of major industrial groups, increases in turnover were recorded in all sectors: the intermediate goods industry (plus 29.7 pct), the energy industry (plus 24.4 pct), the capital goods industry (plus 23 pct), the consumer durables industry (plus 7.3 pct), and the consumer goods industry (plus 6 pct).
In this May compared to April, the industrial turnover grew by an overall 10.3 percent as a result of the rises in the processing industry (plus 10.6 pct) and mining industry (plus 2 pct).
