BVB launches futures contract on its own shares with Market Maker
ACTMedia - 12 Iulie 2011
The Bucharest Stock Market (BVB) on Friday will start trading the futures contract on the BVB shares (named BVB Futures) and starting the same day SSIF IFB Finwest will act as Market Maker for the next two maturities of this futures contract, the BVB reports.
The due dates are in March, June, September and December, with the first available maturities being BVB11SEP and BVB11DEC. The last trading day will be the third Friday of each of the above-mentioned months.
'The Derivatives Market of BVB experiences for the first time the launch of a futures contract with Market Maker from the first day of trading. We are pleased that at the same time the futures contract with the own shares of the Bucharest Stock Market as active support begins to be traded. The new futures contract continues the BVB strategy of granting more instruments in order to diversify the portfolio and to create more win opportunities for clients and intermediaries,' BVB General Director Valentin Ionescu said.
The Derivatives Market was launched in Sept. 2007 and is the regulated market managed by BVB in line with the provisions of the BVB Code - Market Operator: Book II - The Regulated Market.
The listed derivative financial instruments are the futures contracts with stock indexes, shares and foreign exchange as active support.
