The Romanians bought 50 kg of gold in two weeks

BCR and Piraeus the two local banks which have operations with gold with the customers sold since the beginning of the month, in less than two weeks almost 50 kg of gold, worth 1.8 million euro.
The precious metal is seen as a ' haven' to the storm which shakes the European financial markets.
At the National Bank rate, the gold gram went up ovr 153 lei, reaching a new historic tip, for the third day in a row. The movement was determined by the increase of quotations on the international markets where the gold reached a maximum of 1,578 dollars/ounce.
