Istvan Szekely, EC: Romania's economic developments follow established trajectories
ACTMedia - 2 August 2011
The economic developments follow the established trajectories and Romania could register a 1.5 percent economic growth this year, which will rise to 3.5 percent next year, European Commission (EC) delegation head Istvan Szekely told a press conference on Monday.
The EC official added that the budget execution was on the trajectory established with the Romanian authorities and that progress was being made concerning the state-owned companies.
The budget execution is on the trajectory established for reaching the 4.4 percent deficit target. Progress is being made concerning the state-owned companies. We are trying to eliminate the arrears, the EC representative said.
Szekely mentioned that the banking system was well capitalized and that by the next IMF, EC and WB evaluation visit to Romania, the data relating to the budget for 2012 needed to be discussed.
